COMPTON WELFARE RIGHTS ORGANIZATION, INC. STAFF MEMBERS:

Compton Welfare Rights Organization, Inc. (CWRO, Inc.) staff includes (1) Program Director, (1) Case Manager, (2) Residential Aides, (1) Employee Specialist and a host of Volunteers. We are located at 528-530 West Almond Street, Compton, California, 90220. Our shelter has supervision 7 days per week, 24 hours per day.

CWRO, Inc's skilled staff and volunteers relentless compassion and dedication play a strong role when transforming our homeless women. In doing so, we help them to understand that self-esteem is achieved through one personal efforts towards change. Our job is to assist each one with that change and provide the resources, information and motivation it takes to guide them towards a life of total self-sufficiency.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Our Program Director prepares and schedules the agenda for the staff and the volunteers. She monitors and completes staff performance and evaluations, serves on the management team and prepares, writes and submits proposals. She is responsible for the preparation and submission of all monthly reports, controls administration and contract compliance, attends community meetings, conferences and workshops. She networks with other community organizations to make sure the clients are made aware of and utilizes all other social service benefits. Our Life Skills Training Series and family budgeting prepares our residents for long-term family self-sufficiency.

CASE MANAGER

Our Case Manager screens all potential residents and obtains all needed documentation for our residents. She records the clients data and reviews and makes all of the shelter rules known to the residents. She completes case plans that identifies with the clients personal family needs and goals. Residents participation is monitors in adult school, vocational training, community college and job training. She also prepares all clients for long term family self-sufficiency.

BILINGUAL RESIDENTIAL AIDE

Our Bilingual Residential Aides supervise shelter operations for residents lending support to our Spanish speaking residents. She assist the Shelter Director with administrative duties and maintains the grounds of the residents to ensure cleanliness and that all is orderly. She performs frequent walk-through's of the facility to account for all residents, making sure personal chores and errands are completed, and that each resident is following the rules of our shelter. She assist with the care of small children when applicable. She maintains all equipment making sure it is in working order and reports all needed repairs. She supervises our residents with assigned task to make sure all tasks are completed for the day and she supervises all on-site activities of the shelter.

BILINGUAL JOB DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST

Our Bilingual Job Development Specialist researches and develops employer contacts to increase the number of opportunities for our homeless residents. She maintains a cooperative relationship with the business community to arranges interviews and orientations for our residents. She provides job retention assistance, follow-up services, document assistance services and recruitments for potential applicants. She determines eligibility and compiles statistical information to maintain files and case notes on the applicant. 


RESIDENTIAL AIDE

Our Residential Aides assist the Shelter Director with administrative duties and maintains the grounds of the residents to ensure cleanliness and that all is orderly.
